Scrubber
The scrubbing
process takes washing one step
further. Rinsing may not give
the desired cleanliness,
especially when dry and other
deleterious materials are
present, so the process of
scrubbing is now the accepted
method. Scrubbing works on the
principle of working material
against material to remove clay
and other material from the
stone before going to the next
stage.
These machines are incorporated
where aggregate or similar
materials require dirt or clay
to be dissolved or liberated.
Specifically used in the Sand &
Gravel, Limestone & Coal
industry.
Where aggregates are heavily
contaminated by clays a rotating
barrel scrubber can be
incorporated into the system to
ensure adequate cleaning. The
sand product flows with the wash
water typically to a Hydrosander
where the silt and clay are
removed and the sand
de-waterered.
